PAD (Program for Adults with Disabilities)
This program provides diverse social, recreational, and educational activities for this isolated population. Participants have a wide range of ages and physical, mental, and emotional limitations including Down Syndrome, Schizophrenia, mental retardation, Bi-polar Disorder, Muscular Dystrophy, Spina Bifida, stroke, and other disabilities.
Through peer interaction they support each other, enhance their feelings of acceptance, share new experiences, learn new skills, and develop friendships.
- Social & educational activities include games, holiday parties, crafts, painting, cooking, in-house movies, local pontoon rides, and speakers (Police/Fire, etc).
- Off-site excursions include movie theatres, mall shopping, zoos, picnics, train rides, air zoo, and museums.
- Transportation is predominately Care-a-Van. Financial assistance is available for this transportation.
